Oct 13, 2010, 02:24 AM ET
Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences executive director Bruce Davis is resigning after 30 years at the organization, Deadline.com reported.
Davis is stepping down when the fiscal year ends June 30, according to a memo he sent AMPAS staff Tuesday night that was posted on Deadline.
"When I leave, I will have spent 30 years at the Academy and more than 20 as its executive director," Davis wrote. "That seems like enough. Organizations and individuals both benefit from periodic shifts in perspective."
He added that he expects the Board of Governors to begin meeting about naming his successor soon.
