Sandra Bullock, Gravity (Alfonso Cuaron)
Chiwetel Ejiofor, 12 Years a Slave (Steve McQueen)

Giancarlo Giannini, Seven Beauties (Lina Wertmuller)
Tom Hardy, The Revenant (Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu)
Naomie Harris, Moonlight (Barry Jenkins)
Ethan Hawke, Training Day (F. Gary Gray)
Amy Irving, Yentl (Barbra Streisand)
Kate Nelligan, The Prince of Tides (Barbra Streisand)
Nick Nolte, The Prince of Tides (Barbra Streisand)
Jeremy Renner, The Hurt Locker (Kathryn Bigelow)
Chloe Sevigny, Boys Don't Cry (Kimberly Peirce)
Denzel Washington, Fences (Denzel Washington)
Denzel Washington, Malcom X (Spike Lee)

Oscar-winning performances directed by women or POC

It has been noted at this year's Oscars that Mary J. Blige is actually the very first actress to be directed to an Oscar nominations by a woman of color which was a bit surprising to me so I thought, how many performers were directed to Oscar wins by either women or POC? Here's a (probably) incomplete list, let me know who I'm missing:

William Hurt, Kiss of the Spider-Woman (Hector Babenco)
Marlee Matlin, Children of a Lesser God (Randa Haines)
Holly Hunter, The Piano (Jane Campion)
Anna Paquin, The Piano (Jane Campion)
Hilary Swank, Boys Don't Cry (Kimberly Peirce)
Denzel Washington, Training Day (F. Gary Gray)
Charlize Theron, Monster (Patty Jenkins)
Alan Arkin, Little Miss Sunshine (Valerie Faris)
Mo'Nique, Precious (Lee Daniels)
Meryl Streep, The Iron Lady (Phyllida Lloyd)
Lupita Nyong'o, 12 Years a Slave (Steve McQueen)
Leonardo DiCaprio, The Revenant (Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu)
Mahershala Ali, Moonlight (Barry Jenkins)
Viola Davis, Fences (Denzel Washington)

Does anyone have the answer to the question of who's the first actor ever NOMINATED for a film directed by either a woman or a POC? Is the answer Carol Kane in Hester Street? Anyone even earlier than that? Thanks!
