No she wasn't nominated for her acting but Coppola, Streisand and Winfrey are the only actresses who have received nods as producers.

And Henry Fonda (the first), John Wayne, and Paul Newman

Plus nominees Matt Damon and (supporting actor) Mark Wahlberg.

Only actress, I believe: Barbra Streisand.

People didn't receive Best Picture Oscars until 1951.

Douglas, Clooney, and Pitt are the three. Costner and Eastwood are Oscar nominees for acting with a Best Picture win.

Olivier would not count for Hamlet. At the time, studios were given the trophies, not producers. J. Arthur Rank-Two Cities Films is the listed nominee.

Did Laurence Olivier win a Best Picture Oscar? He’s listed as an uncredited producer for Hamlet, which makes me wonder if he received an actual Oscar for Best Picture.

Is Brad Pitt the fourth person to win an acting Oscar and Best Picture?

It's disheartening that The Boys from Brazil wasn't also limited to the one.

You're forgetting that A Civil Action got the most forgettable Cinematography nomination of the past thirty years.
I indeed did.

Like okri, I looked through 30 years of nominees, and it's hard to argue your point (maybe a half-hearted Batman Forever). The cinematographers' branch has cleaned up its act, since those days when they'd slip in a Butterflies Are Free or The Formula every year.

a) I looked through the last 30 years of cinematography nominees to provide a counterpoint to dws' re: A Civil Action. I could not

b) Laurence Olivier has three solo nominations as well - Richard III, The Entertainer and Marathon Man.
