People were so relieved about Wonder Woman's lighter tone and it was such a huge hit that yes, this would certainly be an unsurprising nominee, despite the movie falling apart in the third act.

My ballot. Less idiosyncratic than I think I've been in past years, but of course, I have fairly mainstream taste, and in a year with so many impressive mainstream contenders, I'm not going to play contrarian just for the sake of it.

WGA Exclusions

Post by The Original BJ »

Obviously I'm stretching the definition of viable contenders to include almost ANYTHING that could even be on the fringes of the conversation, but here is -- based on eye-balling the ballot -- what seems to be missing:

ORIGINAL
Beach Rats
Breathe
Colossal
Columbus
Darkest Hour
God's Own Country
Good Time
Goodbye Christopher Robin
It Comes At Night
The Killing of a Sacred Deer
The Lovers
Novitiate
Personal Shopper
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

ADAPTED
Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool
It
Lady Macbeth
My Cousin Rachel
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Victoria & Abdul

And, as usual, all of the animated and foreign language titles.
