Very much agreed. This is where things get kind of tricky. You have 3BB, having all the stats in the world (including politically relevant themes), whilst missing the independent spirit nom for BP.

Now, I'm not saying 'stats' are everything. But just look at the love CMBYN received. It's quite the telling sign for things to come. I might be switching back to the one I was predicting since August.

Biggest surprise is no Willem DaFoe. How on Earth does that make sense with these people?

Next up is Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri didn't make it in for Best Feature. You'd think it would be a slam dunk. Trying to think of the last feature that was Indie Spirit eligible that didn't make it in. The Hurt Locker? Milk?

Strong showing for The Rider, a film I quite frankly hadn't heard of. You'd think Three Billboards... or even The Big Sick would be stronger contenders.

Nomination leaders are Get Out and Good Time, which wasn't nominated for Best Feature.

Very little overlap between Feature and Director. I'm more than a little surprised that Sean Baker couldn't make it in.

Mudbound only won the Robert Altman award.

Hammer and Rockwell, not Stuhlbarg and Harrelson.

Lois Smith makes her first showing.
