It's only other competition is Lady Bird, and 3BB (Albeit by a close second.)

I don't recall saying they do. (Like the Gothams have any impact on a ceremony that's months ahead.)

But like I've said before; Stats don't mean everything... but Stats also don't lie, my friend. Especially when the past 3 to 4 Upset 'Indie' winners have garnered these awards. Also, there's no 'La La Land' or 'Boyhood' frontrunner to speak of right now. It's a seemingly mixed bag that's just waiting for a film like CMBYN to swoop in and shock everyone.

If CMBYN wins Best Picture here--and at the Spirit Awards, there's no doubt in my mind It's winning the Oscar. It's only competition would be 'Three Billboards' IMO. (If It wins the SAG Ensemble, that is.)

27th Annual IFP Gotham Awards Nominations

Nominees are selected by committees of film critics, journalists, festival programmers, and film curators. Separate juries of writers, directors, actors, producers, editors and others directly involved in making films will determine the final Gotham Award recipients. This year’s nomination jury included IndieWire’s own Eric Kohn, David Ehrlich, Liz Shannon Miller, and Jude Dry. The winners will be selected by online voting of IFP members. Voting for that award begins November 17.
