Always impressed by your willingness to list every individual contributor in each possible contender in each category. A couple of questions:
anonymous wrote
BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN CINEMATOGRAPHY
Bradford Young, Arrival
Linus Sandgren, La La Land
Greig Fraser, Lion
James Laxton, Moonlight
Rodrigo Prieto, Silence
You list The Handmaiden in a few other categories. Why not here? And do you see anything other than Lion breaking through in this category. I found it to be a lovely-looking film but far from gorgeous. Not that that's the determining factor in these things.
anonymous wrote
BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN MUSIC, ORIGINAL SCORE
John Williams, The BFG
Alexandre Desplat, Florence Foster Jenkins
Justin Hurwitz, La La Land
Volker Bertlemann & Dustin O'Halloran, Lion
Nicholas Brittel, Moonlight
What is your reasoning for including John Williams and Alexandre Desplat? I'm sure I can guess but just wondering. For Desplat, why not The Light Between the Oceans? Or a surprise nomination for Thomas Newman for Passengers?
anonymous wrote
BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN SOUND EDITING
Shannon Mills and Daniel Lurie, Captain America: Civil War
Jim Brookshire and Wayne Lemmer, Deadpool
Robert Mackenzie and Andy Wright, Hacksaw Ridge
Christopher Boyes and Frank E. Eulner, The Jungle Book
Christopher Scarabosio and Matthew Wood, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Why no Arrival?
