Last year they did that weird pre-recorded video of introductions with a live announcer listing the nominees. I cannot recall off the top of my head whether they did it in order or not. The video might still be out on the internet somewhere.

Yes, it is, Franz.

Did they announce last year’s acting nominees alphabetically?

Nominations Announcement

Post by Mister Tee »

For those of us who missed the live announcement last year, good news. Though the early section -- primarily the tech categories -- will be done in the same pre-taped fashion as last year, the top-category announcements will be read live (performer(s) not yet specified).

Here's the breakdown of the two segments (not in an order):

5:22am PT: Cinematography, Costume Design, Film Editing, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score, Production Design, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects.

5:38am PT: Actor in a Leading Role, Actor in a Supporting Role, Actress in a Leading Role, Actress in a Supporting Role, Animated Feature Film, Directing, Doc Feature, Doc Short Subject, Foreign Language Film, Original Song, Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Original Screenplay.
