Sad that 'Logan' didn't make it. I thought the gradual aging of Hugh Jackman was very impressive.

Well...'Darkest Hour' is in. If the first Guardians of the Galaxy film can get in, you'd think the second could as well. I'm guessing 'I, Tonya' is here for Allison Janney. Probably not enough. Haven't seen 'Bright,' 'Ghost in the Shell,' or 'Wonder.' So, no idea. I haven't seen 'Victoria and Abdul' either but 'Mrs. Brown' got in back in 1997, so maybe...?

One can never tell what this branch will like in any given year — though you’d have to assume Darkest Hour is a pretty strong/impressive candidate.

I honestly had no idea what Bright even was, but based on the premise and a few of the released still images, I wonder if this might be a late-surge surprise entry in this race.
