Thought the Brits would choose more artistic choices.

I don't expect to skip it, but I don't expect to find much to like either. When the most interesting sounding announced presenter is a 9-year-old kid something's a little off.

I agree - I have watched every telecast since 1970 - this year's races have left me completely disinterested, and the thought of watching mad max win all the down ballot categories is a depressing thought - I am strongly considering skipping the whole telecast - first time in 46 years!

I guess it's just me, and it must be partly because I still have to see some of this year's (hopefully) best nominees (Spotlight, Room, Brooklyn)... but I've never been least excited at an approaching Oscar night. And the prospect of The Revenant getting Best Picture makes me even less excited...

There were some surprises.

I'd go into details but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who wants to see the awards unfolding on TV. It airs at 7:30 P.M. EST in the U.S.
