Wait...did you have a straight Hugo ticket? Clooney? Wasn't Plummer close to unbeatable by Sunday night that year? You had Davis but not Spencer? Am I being revisionist or just kind of ecstatic that just a mere few years back things were that unpredictable?
All the categories I got right for 2014 I crossed off my list. Then, of those left, all the categories I got right for 2013 I crossed off the list, etc. By the 2011 films, I had only got Original Screenplay consistently wrong.

Here is my list of the most recent awards show (based on year of the films releases, current show is 2014) where I predicted a category correctly:

2014 -
Direction
Adapted Screenplay
Lead Actor
Lead Actress
Supporting Actor
Supporting Actress
Foreign Language Film
Live Action Short Subject
Animated Short Subject
Original Song
Cinematography
Visual Effects
Sound Editing
Production Design
Costume Design

2013-
Animated Feature
Original Score
Film Editing
Sound Mixing
Makeup And Hairstyling

2012-
Picture
Documentary Feature
Documentary Short Subject

2011-
Original Screenplay

If anyone would care to take the time to join me, we might get an idea of what categories bedeviled us the most in the last few years.

Congratulations, Jack.

The trick - as other, more brilliant people than me already figured out - was apparently not to pick any runner-up choices. I'd have gotten 57 points instead, and I'm sure everyone else's scores would've improved as well.

I did, and so did Franz Ferdinand.

Julianne Moore acknowledged the other nominees.

Standing Ovations - depends how you count.

For winners - five full (Picture, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actress Song), two partial (Supporting Actor, Director), one post-speech (Adapted Screenplay) although they did rise again for Supporting Actress again and Song.

For performance - Lady Gaga

For presenter - Julie Andrews

Total 8 full, 2 partial.

Thanking fellow nominees - I only remember Inarraritu, but I probably forgot a few.

No one got Mike Nichols as the last in In Memoriam, although I seem to have been the only one who didn't think it would be Robin Williams.

Before I calculate, does anyone have the official count for the tie-breaker questions? I'm thinking 6 full standing ovations and 5 people acknowledging their fellow nominees?

It's been fun everyone. A few winners that didn't quite fit what would have been expected. Learning new voting patterns. But, maybe that's good for the Academy.
