I'd be pleased as pie to see Russo pick up traction here.

I’m torn between the fact that LA has seemed to go out of its way in the last few years not to duplicate NY’s best picture choice, and the fact that Boyhood feels more in the Hurt Locker/Social Network class than any of the intervening films.

Film: Boyhood
[Birdman]
Actor: Michael Keaton (Birdman)
[David Oyelowo (Selma)]
Actress: Marion Cotiillard (Two Days One Night)/(The Immigrant)
[Julianne Moore (Still Alice)]
Sup. Actor: Edward Norton (Birdman)
[J.K. Simmons (Whiplash)]
Sup. Actress: Rene Russo (Nightcrawler)
[Jessica Chastain (A Most Violent Year))]
…though classic LA would be Agata Kulesza (Ida)
Director: Alejandro G. Innaritu (Birdman)
[Richard Linklater (Boyhood)]
Screenplay: Inherent Vice
[The Grand Budapest Hotel]
Cinematography: Robert Elswit (Inherent Vice & Nightcrawler)
[Bradford Young (Selma & A Most Violent Year)]
Design: The Grand Budapest Hotel
[Mr. Turner]
Music: Birdman
[Gone Girl]
Editing: Whiplash
[Birdman]
Animation: Song of the Sea
[The Tale of the Princess Kaguya]
Foreign Language: Leviathan
[Two Days, One Night, Mommy]
Documentary: Citizenfour
[The Case Against 8]
New Generation: Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler)
