Once they ignored 12 Years a Slave, I started rooting whole-heartedly for Lubezki.

I actually thought his work on To The Wonder was even more impressive (and gun to head, I probably would've gone with Inside Llewyn Davis out of the five here) but I was definitely glad to see him win.

Really sad if Roger Deakins needs to make an effects-driven film in order to win an Oscar...

I have been a big fan for a while. :lol:

As others have said, I am just happy he finally won. Now Roger Deakins needs to make an FX film so he can finally win.

Since Cinematography and Visual Effects seem to be linked these days, I guess Hoyte Van Hoytema is going to win the next Cinematography Oscar for INTERSTELLAR.
