Well yes, that's true. Sort of like how fair-minded people would be appalled at a National Association for the Advancement of White People, or a celebration of a straight pride parade.

If you're part of the historically and politically dominant group, you don't exactly need your own organization to allow your voice to be heard. There is no need for an Alliance of Male Film Journalists because we already have the New York Film Critics Circle, the LA Film Critics Circle, the National Society of Film Critics, the Boston Society of Film Critics, the goddamn Broadcast Film Critics, etc.
