That one pisses me off the most. It just cannot believe it.
It's the quintessential Academy result, and is the perfect example of why the Oscars are not to be taken seriously as any kind of arbiter of quality.

Meh, I guess I just don't care anymore. In the end, considering who the other nominees were, Hudson's win wasn't as egregious as say Crash winning over Brokeback Mountain, or Ron Howard winning over Robert Altman and David Lynch.

It was one of those things, it was gonna happen and it was unavoidable...but it was a shame...it was far from the best performance and she was given the award for having a beautiful voice and giving a solid performance. Either of the babel performances were better, so was blanchett, my number 1...and my other top 5 which were streep in prarie, thompson and stranger than fiction, epps in half nelson and blunt in devil wears prada

Everyone else in that category was more deserving. Even the little girl.

I was more or less satisfied with 2006. I still can't believe a film as deserving as The Departed actually won, and I'm really glad that the voters showed unusual good taste and restraint in 2004 by awarding Eastwood's elegant film and direction and waiting a few years to find a Scorsese film that could be grouped among the best of his films, and the best of the Academy's films.

And more and more, I don't even mind Jennifer Hudson winning. I haven't changed my opinion mind you, but the category itself was so lousy that a viable alternative never surfaced, and I'm just glad that horrible little witch from Little Miss Sunshine got shafted. I never thought I'd find a child actor more annoying than Dakota Fanning, but we definitely have a new winner folks.

Oh and I'm still pissed Volver wasn't nominated for Best Foreign Film. Worst oversight.

I really think she deserved to be nominated last year. Her performance was fabulous.

Thats a great comment about brody and lane in black dahlia...they both were great in hollywoodland(along with affleck)...there was only so much they could do with hollywoodland and there was so much more that could have been done with black dahlia. I did rewatch black dahlia because of all the love on this site, and i still think its a dissappointment, and its the fault of the actors and the director.
