AfterElton reports ( link ) that the 1998 film 54 was shown ("secretly") at L.A.'s Outfest, but this was director Mark Christopher's version--the Weinstein Bros had demanded that he cut out 45 minutes of footage, most of which featured Ryan Phillippe's character exploring his gay side, and ordered re-shoots that upped Phillippe's relationship with Neve Campbell; Christopher's version restores the missing footage, but there's no indication that Disney--who owns the rights to the film--will be releasing a directors cut anytime soon.
