I've watched the first 30 minutes of I'm Not There. So far, I've really enjoyed it. If the rest of the film is as good as the first 30 minutes, it'll probably end up in my top 5 for the year. I'll try to watch the rest before the Oscar ceremony.

I have to add Away From Her in my "have seen films" List. My comments about this movie will be posted in the specific thread.

For real? I enjoyed The Savages quite a bit. P.S. Hoffman and Linney gave great performances and Philip Bosco in that diner scene simply bowled me over. In a less competitive year for Best Supporting Actor, he'd most certainly be a contender. On a purely superficial note, I love the poster for this film as well.

Charlie Wilson's War featured Hoffman's best performance of the year and is the only reason to watch it (although, I loved Emily Blunt's cameo -- she looked fucking hot!)

I know. I really wasn't going to see it.

But then I was at a friend's house...and she had rented it...and was going to watch it...and it was there...and it was free...and everyone else was doing it...

It sure felt bad the morning after, though.

I have nothing but respect for the balls it must take to endure every nominated film but I will never understand the midset of the Oscar completist. If I think a film looks like junk I won't watch it - what, really, is the point? If you really feel the need to cheer on Norbit or August Rush on Sunday why not just look at a few stills online, or play the song on Youtube?

Shitty is too kind. I also forgot the despicable Charlie Wilson's War on my list of crap. I wasn't that big of a fan of The Savages, either.
