Sure glad you started this one, anonymous. I'd have been barely able to summon up energy to post the nominees.

Nothing really deserved this award this year. Of the few possible I've seen, I'd rate the Harry Potter movie ahead of Transformers -- it's not up to Prisoner of Azkaban level, but its effects are more graceful than the clunk that's Transformers.

The fix is in, though. In this hobbled crew of nominees, Transformers can't lose.

The nominees:

The Golden Compass
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Transformers

Along with Ratatouille, Transformers for Visual Effects is probably the biggest lock of the night.
