I´m not so certain about Jolie and Blanchett will lose strength because of his supporting perfomance.

I think Jolie is in fourth. It's Knightley/Linney/Blanchett for fifth place, I would say. Hopefully Linney will make it although I wouldn't have too many objections with a nomination for Knightley. It's the first performance of hers I've liked since Pure.

She could replace Jolie or Blanchett in the 5th slot.

I think Knightley has a chance. McAvoy and Wright are probably out - they were always going to show up here, so I don't think it really boosts their chances.

Aren't the BAFTA's usually good for a few Oscar nominees in each category? This could be more good news for Atonement (I know Penelope is happy!)

Wow, no love for Into the Wild.

And I'm happy Kelly MacDonald was recognized -- hopefully the Academy follows. Also glad that they recognized BOTH Jones and Bardem, though I wish Brolin could get some love.

And for the life of me, I can't figure which Animated "useless 3rd slot-filler" Film would be worse -- Bee Movie or Shrek the Third. As much as I like some animated films, I agree with Damien and Steph that this category shouldn't exist.

Penelope, is there any room over there with you to vomit over Paul Greengrass' nomination?

American Gangster for best film is the big shocker here...

The Bourne Ultimatum and Eastern Promises as British movies is pushing it. The directing nod for Greengrass is a joke.

Happy to see The Lives of Others do so well. Most disappointed for Vanessa Redgrave (who, amazingly, has never won a BAFTA) and Sam Riley, who at least is up for the rising star award.
