DiNero is actually a lot of fun in that silly film. The boring leads (why didn't they get Gwyneth Paltrow instead of Claire Danes?) are easily upstaged by the professional "supporting" stars.
And I'll say this -- Michelle Pfeiffer deserves a supporting nomination for her fun scenery chewing in Stardust way more than some of the names being touted for an Oscar this year.
GLAAD nominations
Well, jack, until recently, "the bottom of the barrel" was pretty much the only place you could find gay/lesbian/transgendered characters in film and television. We've come a long way, but they are still few and far between. In a world where there is still stereotypical crapola like I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry coming out in the theater (i.e., some straight male version of what it means to be gay), I'll take DeNiro's comic gay pirate.
