I don't feel berated. I just don't like the turn the game seems to have taken. It should've been fairly light-hearted and casual, but people seem to be treating it like life and death.

Take me out of this game.

It was fun when it started out as a game, but now that Oscar Guy feels the need to figuratively whack everyone across the face with a 2-by-4 if they aren't playing the game "right", it's not so much.

Group One: Out with Alec Baldwin in Supporting Actor. There are several good performers I could put in; Robert Duvall in Open Range , Tom Guiry in Mystic River , Baldwin's co-star in The Cooler , Ron Livingston. My winner in this category, Peter Youngblood-Hills in AKA , wasn't on the AMPAS reminde...

Don't bother with the PM...I'm preparing my picks. Trying to decide what I'm going to do in group one.

I personally hope that "The Scarlet Tide" gets preserved (doubt it does, though), but I couldn't argue against either of the songs from Gods and Generals . The movie is pretty dire (and I say this as someone who loves Gettysburg , and thinks it's one of the most underrated movies of that ...

Agree. I think the Academy nominated the only worthy thing about Thirteen. Plus, I'm hoping someone puts Jamie Lee Curtis in Best Actress before it fills. Certainly she deserves a spot over Evan Rachel Wood.

Group one: Toss Charlize Theron out and replace her with Romola Garai in I Capture The Castle , the true breakthrough performer of 2003. Group two: In editing, I'll replace City of God , a movie that deserved to be hidden away forever and forgotten rather than rewarded with four Oscar nominations, ...

Not bad. Just average. Better than Atonement's photography, though.

Easy choice. Out with There Will Be Blood, and in with Roger Deakins for The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford.

Zahveed: Best Actor, 1981.

Very quickly-- Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story Stinks. And John C. Reilly is creeping his way higher and higher up the list of actors I dread seeing cast in anything. Dans Paris Is excellent. After the very disturbing and very unpleasant Ma Mere , Christophe Honore shows he's not just a lame provoca...

I don't remember where Eric ever said that he was eliminating ROTK even though he thought that there were other nominees that were less deserving. Oscar Guy seems to have decided that Eric is biased against it, and therefore he eliminated it even though "he knew" it wasn't the worst in th...

David C. is sounding very predictable and I am getting to the point where I don't like him very much--the same shouting and throat-singing. Ironic that someone would accuse David Cook of being predictable, and yet praise David Archuleta for giving the same performance week in and week out. NO surpr...

Jeffrey Wells was apparently mixed on this, but I haven't found his review online. Screendaily is mixed, but likes Julianne Moore and Alice Braga: In Blindness, Fernando Meirelles valiantly attempts to pin down Nobel laureate Jose Saramago's largely metaphorical work of fiction for the big screen: ...

Yes, anonymous's crush didn't do terribly well tonight. He seemed completely inauthentic trying to sing something contemporary, utterly failed to make any kind of emotional connection to "And So It Goes", and seemed like an animatronic robot on "Longer". Of course, he usually se...
