Magilla....not to derail this thread too much... I think the question isn't Willem Defoe's objective age but his objective appearance compared to historical evidence?...but I am quite curious about your statement: are you upset the actresses are not the same age or that they don't look the same age?...

Re: Sharp Objects
Well I stopped reading after the first paragraph...as to avoid spoilers. However, my wife and I have given this several chances and I can't stay awake...long story short, Tee, is it worth powering through to completion? Ozark is about to start and I'm not sure I have the desire.

The Tree of Life --this year, and almost every other year. Correct...as easy as it gets no? As I believe I've said in multiple threads...as surprising as his 3 straight wins were...it quivers in the shadow of the unjust nature of his 3 prior defeats, any ordering of which likely rank as numbers 1, ...

Thanks for all your hard work, Bog. Easiest job I've ever done...was excited to continue the process no matter the results! He would have been the youngest member of Congress had he won last night. Almost definitely Alexandria would have swiped it from him come November and will precede him if they...

Re: Everything Is Great and Amazing
Tough fucking loss here tonight...and I'm right at the front of the line to deride moral victories...however: 1) Very odd special election schedule with one of the nation's most ridiculously gerrymandered districts...but one that delves into the city, however slightly. OSU and it's 50,000 enrollment...

Re: Everything Is Great and Amazing
the hideous Jim Jordan will become speaker and next in line behind Pence. Only in Trump's America: can a (mostly) meaningless football coach (potentially/likely) lose his job for maybe not calling the police with knowledge of domestic violence between other adults, while a wrestling coach who cover...

Re: Best Cinematography 2005
Haven't been doing a good job keeping up with the polls here, or sadly much of the board at all, but can chime in here excitedly. Similar to others' feelings this is an (unusually) solid slate including many I would nominate with 1 caveat. I find the 7 or so hours of run time, in this bloated fanboy...

This country is so fucked it's borderline impossible to pinpoint via post timestamp which Trumpian debacle you are referencing. The mere fact it has come to this is (hyperbolically?) epic scale. I'm certain in the past if I had merely googled-- "Obama/Bush news for WEEK of/MONTH of (insert date...

Re: Casey Affleck Not Attending the Oscars
Kind of a bummer...such a rare honor and for a performance so richly deserved, in my opinion. Maybe it is for the best, but unless Jimmy took it upon himself to "go there" during introduction...sure seems like it would have come and gone damn quickly and onto a likely powerful speech.

Wonder what Fox news is covering right now...God help them if some "illegal" voter didn't sneak into the country and spontaneously murder a pregnant white woman.
Ohhhhh duh Senator Obama took a photo with Farrakhan ....all is well in under a rock town

What a glorious little movie this was...and it resonates long after seeing it...I've been gathering my thoughts to post more hopefully soon...Saoirse could prove to be hard to pass on despite McDormand's power and topical nature...oh tough choices (My god, some of those soundtrack selections really ...

Re: I, Tonya reviews
Casting Robbie in this role is the equivalent of casting Lena Dunham as Grace Kelly. Uri...you made me laugh there at the end. Without sounding as ridiculously cliched as possible...you are as wrong as I was when the first frame began of her at her kitchen table documentary-style. Without having se...
