The 2004 Broadway revival version of "Assassins" is quite good and Neil Patrick Harris does a great job carrying the show.

in Blood Diamond plot, situations and characters are so banal that they reduce the important social issue to a McGuffin - and, I'm afraid, intentionally so. Just curious, did you feel that North Country reduced the plight of sexual harrassment in the workplace to a McGuffin? I'm of the opinion that...

Say, Damien, did you see Abigail's disappointment when she lost to Jennifer Hudson in Supporting Actress? I remember at one of the award shows before the Oscars (either the Globes or the SAGs), Haley Joel Osment had this really disappointed look on his face when he lost the award. Once the Oscars c...

It was the pet project of David Geffen who had his p.r. boys work overtime on it. Rumor has it Geffen, who is apparently not very well like in Hollywood, intended to leave the film business clutching his best picture Oscar, something that won't happen now. I have no way of knowing if it's true, but...

OMG, that was hilarious, Penelope! Why didn't they just start f-cking while they were at it? And when is the second season of Dynasty coming out on DVD already? I'm dying for some Alexis/Krystal action .

Is this list limited to Oscar nominees by design or coincidence? Neither Maureen O’Hara in Only the Lonely (1991), Joan Blondell in The Cincinnati Kid (1965), Marjorie Rhodes in The Family Way (1967), Eve Arden in The Dark at the Top of the Stairs (1960), Dame Edith Evans in The Nun’s Story (1959),...

Berger has not seen the movie. He said his opinions were formed by what he has read about it. I haven't even seen Hounddog and neither have any of these so-called enraged people. All they've heard about it is that it includes a depiction of rape involving a minor, yet it is supposed to be tastefull...

I think Zooey Deschanel is a great choice for the role of Janis Joplin and I'm excited to see what she ends up doing with it. Just because the nature of the role, this would probably have to go in the category of Best Actress potential nominees for next year, even sight unseen. Her talent is pretty...

Personally, I'd add Joan Allen's performance in Pleasantville (1998) to my list of Great Performances by Actresses in Supporting Roles Since 1929. Having perfected the supporting, long-suffering wife role in such films as Nixon, The Crucible, The Ice Storm, Allen brought a new twist to the archityp...
