Re: Documentary Finalists

Perhaps I've missed something, but how can Going Clear be eligible given that it was broadcast on HBO. I can only assume that it had a theatrical release prior? Also, if it wins, would that make it the first film/doc to win the Oscar and the Emmy for best of it's category? CitizenFour just did it S...

Re: NBR Winners

It'll be an interesting year if it winds up being Mad Max and The Martian going toe-to-toe for the big win. Maybe I'll need to watch Mad Max again, but it was largely forgettable the first time around. As for The Martian, I reckon it'll likely be the big winner. Though I may return to this post an e...

Re: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt- What do you think of it?

It's incredibly camp, but I enjoyed it quite a lot. It's no where near as cleaver as 30 Rock (I even noticed a few of the same jokes being used), though I'm sure I'll watch series two when it's available. I remember reading that it started life as a network show (NBC I'm guessing), and I'm sure it w...

If he does it will likely be in support. Mark Ruffalo has the lead role.
Support seems like the likely place for Keaton to win.

There's a weak link in each year. I've no idea which year to vote for.

Re: Best Screenplay 1981

I flirted back and forth between Atlantic City and On Golden Pond. I chose the latter . I'm well aware that both are somewhat slight, though they're guilty pleasures for me.

In regard to Raiders. No. The Big Bang Theory proved why.

Re: Last Seen Movie - The Latest Movie You Have Seen; ratings

Exodus: Gods and Kings (Ridley Scott, 2014) 6/10 Moses gets a retread once more when there really wasn't any need for it. The CGI effects carry the film via spectacular battle sequences, the splendor of the Egyptian buildings, a Jaws redux via giant alligators attacking a boat full of men and the R...

Re: Best Oscar Hosting of the Decade

I thought for years that Robin Williams would have made for a fantastic host. Colbert would be good, though as a Bill Maher fan, I would love to see him host, though I doubt that will ever happen. Eddie Murphy would make for a great host, I think, or copy the Globes and have Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

I suspect it was Gaelic. The man's tux was clad in tartan, so that's my best guess.
