Re: Telecast Discussion
Part of me still thinks this was staged -either by the Academy/ABC or Smith himself. ABC will have this whole nonsense played out again next year which I’ll likely get more people to watch the show. Will Smith’s best actor win will now be one of the most famous wins because of this. I’m thinking it ...

Re: Telecast Discussion
Maybe it would be better if the the Academy broke away from ABC and made the show pay-per-view on Oscars.org. In addition to accepting credit and debit cards, they could sell gift cards that people could by with cash in stores, or even from vending machines. These gift-card sales could be used to p...

Re: Notable Firsts and Records
Something to figure out: regarding Eilish and Finneas, how many couples of brother/sister have won in the same category for the same film? Don’t think this is a first, but I guess it is not that common. The Coen brothers are the only others I can think of. And the Sherman brothers (I had to look th...

Re: Worst Oscar Winners
For me nothing can beat Shakespeare in Love. The 1998 year was my first Oscar show, and it still to this day leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that it beat Saving Private Ryan. It’s also a terrible film. I had no idea who Harvey Weinstein was back then, but can remember hating him after that show. H...

Re: Oscar Nominations
How exactly is this new popular film category being handled? I know anyone can vote for their favourite film, but has there been any announcement made about whether or not the winning film will be handed an Oscar or not?

I'm surprised that Red Notice was't mentioned. It was one of the worst films I've seen in a long time, and I didn't even watch it all.

"If it were you or me who did this, we'd be arrested and executed in 10 seconds. But the police won't even touch Baldwin because he's a socialist." After reading all the social media comments, I believe the definitive IQ test has finally arrived. The Democratic Socialists of America contr...

Jerry Bruckheimer for the Thalberg. I wouldn't exactly applaud this choice, but it could well happen.

Mister Tee wrote The last time two contenders were matched up and the WGA led us wrong was in 2000, twenty years ago, when Cameron Crowe went up against Kenneth Lonergan, twenty years ago, which I know we all discussed because we were all right here, twenty years ago, I'm old I'm so dreadfully old....

Re: 92nd Oscar Nominations Announcement
Bradley Cooper now has 8 Oscar nominations. That number will continue to climb and I still can’t believe it. He’s the dick head from Wedding Crashers.
I will say, though: I’m starting to think Joker could win best picture.
