Re: CHASING COVID-19 VACCINE

The AstraZeneca vaccine which has been getting some notice due to blood clots and possibly other issues hasn't been approved for use in the U.S., but the U.S. government had stockpiled 10 million doses of it in case it did get approval. They are going to send 4 million of those doses to Canada and ...

Re: April 2021 Oscars Will Be In-Person

Hopkins decided long ago not to attend awards ceremony so even if this was a normal year he wouldn't attend either.

On the other hand his Instagram account is a joy to follow.

I think it’s very troublesome when you have a president of USA calling the president of Russia a “killer” during an interview.

Actually he's the fourth person. Cynthia Erivo was also nominated in acting and song last year.

Re: 2020 Oscar Nomiantions

The Directing branch made up for last year's horrific inclusion of Todd Phillips by giving us a great slate of nominees just based on talent, but also amazing for their diversity: two women and two people of color. Didn't noticed this until you brought it up. I just thought that the quality of the ...

Re: 2020 Oscar Nomiantions

Apart from Supporting Actor, pretty predictable overall. I correctly guessed Vinterberg. And on a personal note, I'm really pissed. First time since 1997 that I missed the full live nominations announcement. This year it was an hour earlier in my time zone and I missed the first batch of nominations...

Re: CHASING COVID-19 VACCINE

I will have to wait a lot of time before I get vaccinated which is a shame because apparently one will only be allowed to travel abroad if it has received a vaccine and I really miss traveling... In my country only 12% have received at least one shot and 2% the full vaccine. Does anyone you know tha...

I’m 100% with you on this. Everyone I know loved it whilst I thought it was a very mediocre and predictable film.

Re: Coattail Oscar Wins

Speaking of coattail best picture winners one can argue that Juliette Binoche caught The English Patient wave but the other examples brought up by Tee and Magilla occurred on years with very little competition. In the case of Binoche the huge favorite was Lauren Bacall so to it’s difficult to say th...
