Not everyone believes they are a waste. The OFTA has a category for Best Titles Sequence. 2004: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events 2002: Catch Me If You Can Amazing ones... Sweeney Todd's has an interesting opening credits sequence... very Burtonesque of course... I thought of another ...

Italiano, nice to see you around...

What's your opinion on "Gente di Mare", a beautiful song in my opinion that actually placed quite high back in 1987 (4th? 3rd?). Don't remember who beated it, but the song is still a favorite of mine...

Agreed. When Sandra went in for her hug to tell the Latina maid that she was her only friend, I wanted the maid to say something like, "Get the hell off me, bitch. I'm not your f*****g friend." LOL :D That would have been a better scene... damn, that would have make it a watchable film! L...

I just saw The Lion in Winter. I had extremely high expectations for it and the film live up to them. There's no secret that the cast did a wonderful job, an amazing one I must say... How come Peter O'Toole lost that Oscar should be one of the great academy awards's misteries. I was amazed by Hopki...

If Juliette Binoche little homage to Lauren Bacall was a proof of humility... this stands out! Man, I never heard about this reaction to her win... And coming from her is just amazing. How tasteful and classy...

I really don't like this lineup. There's no outstanding song, so if I had enough passes, I'd stick to Eminem's, for my money the only one that's going to endure. "The Hands that Built America" is way too pretetntious, not the best U2's song, not by far. "I move on" failed to imp...

Dima Bilan is again representing Russia. He placed 2nd a few years ago with Never Let You Go (who beated him? can't remember). Don't know it he's gay or not, but he definitely looked more gay oriented in his past performance with his clothes and boyish attitude. This time he actually sings better a...

Belgium uses a non-existent language Urban Trad's "Sanomi", Belgium's entry for the 2003 contest was also performed/written in an imaginary/made up language... and that wasn't a bad thing. Actually, it remains my favorite entry from that year. Here in Venezuela (can't talk for the contine...

Extremely unexpected... Just can't imagine him in the role! And I'm trying really hard... But if it is him... there will be a total of 6 "Oscars" through 5 AA winners in the cast. Besides, when was the last time both Best Leading Actors went on to make a film together? And Minghella was i...

Even though Edward Zwick alrady has an Oscar for producing Shakespeare in Love (plus another nomination for Best Picture - Traffic), none of his directed films has ever managed to grab a Best Picture nod. However, some of those films have actually taken a lot of nods and eventual wins, some of them...
