I have seen Marie Antoinette and Pirates 2, in the past day have watched Flags of Our Fathers, Babel and The Prestige, and have copies of An Inconvinient Truth, Devil Wears Prada and United 93 sitting on my coffee table. It's a matter of finding time to watch them (I should get to one of them tomor...

It seems to me like there are two main problems that have led to the lack of excitement surrounding the Oscars, at least for me. First off, it seems like between the SAGs, the GGs, the BAFTAs, etc. that I have already seen the Oscars happen. Everything has become almost rote by the time the Oscars ...

I think the only truly fabulous film Ron Howard has directed is Parenthood, mostly because he assembled a fabulous cast and then let them do their thing. The scene with Keanu Reeves discussing masterbation with Dianne Weist is priceless, as is Steve Martin's birthday party rambunctiousness. Everyth...

No, Bob Fosse won Best Director in 1972 for Cabaret, beating out Francis Ford Coppola. That was the year he set the record for winning the directing Emmy, Oscar and Tony. PS - I just realized you weren't counting Fosse. Shirley MacLaine and Dustin Hoffman can both go up a notch. Edited By FilmFan72...

I agree...I thought it was the best episode since last season's "Dave." It returned to what makes Lost the best, focusing on interesting characters put in other-worldly situations. These people who complain about not being explained enough about the island and the lore are missing the poi...

Not everyone agrees that the franchise has been reinvigorated. Batman Begins was fine enough, but in the end didn't have nearly the depth or grandness of Burton's two films, especially Batman Returns, still the greatest Superhero movie ever. I am luke-warm to this film. The interesting cast is the ...

I have seen three of the Animated Short nominees...The Little Match Girl, Maestro and No Time for Nuts. The Little Match Girl is by far the best of the bunch, a touching, traditionally drawn animated film from Disney. The kind of film they should be making more of. I've also seen one of the Live Ac...

Still a lot to see. In the end, I love the Top 5, but 6-10 need to be replaced by the long list of films left to see. 1. Marie Antoinette (dir: Sofia Coppola, USA) 2. Pan’s Labyrinth (dir: Guillermo del Toro, Mexico) 3. Children of Men (dir: Alfonso Cuaron, UK/USA) 4. The Departed (dir: Martin Scor...

The list of haven't seens is much longer than the list of seens, so I won't bother posting it. Hopefully by next year's Oscars, I will have seen all the major nominees from this year's Oscars:) I still have a few to catch up on from last year (it's a cycle that I don't think will ever stop).

I'll second that, jack. A much-more worthwhile winner than many of the winners in this category.

I don't mean to sound rude, but I find that a fairly nit-picky and unimportant trvia question. I think the way Tee and I interpreted it is at least a little more important and insightful.
