Interesting argument - I disagree with Brigadoon, Carousel, Follies, and A Chorus Line being at the top tier though. Brigadoon just isn't as well known as a musical that you guys are calling the "pantheon musical." A Chorus Line is dated. It was dated then, and it's dated now. It's just t...

I know no one else was asking but today I met someone who knows Mordecai Richler and he tole me the "ch" is pronounced as in "choo choo." Just wanted to correct that because someone here, like myself, thought it was pronounced the same way as in "Michael."

OK so I changed Shirley Booth to Shirley Jones and I changed #45 to Jessica Lange. Those were honest mistakes - I knew who those ladies were but mistyped them. And on the Maggie Smith clip, I couldn't make out the face well, but she was hte only actress I hadn't found a home for. Would someone plea...

At the 75th Oscars, before they presented the four acting categories, they would have a montage of the previous winners. It was great. I no longer have this on tape, but I remember they played GREAT music in the background for the four montages. Does anyone else remember this? If so, what were the ...

Does anyone know what the proper pronunciation is of the Canadian author Mordecai Richler? Is the "ch" pronounced as it is in "choo choo" or as in "Machiavelli"?

Thanks.

I see it differently. I see them as two separate works of nonfiction. It's true that one was designed to heighten dramatic tension and the other had no idea it would ever be published, but they are still works of nonfiction. Either way, I guess the response is that The Diary of Anne Frank was not i...

Oh this is going to be a major flop. I don't know how it's still running. Everyone I know who saw it hated it with the fires of hell. Depp could potentially get praise for Sweeney. That's a musical everyone respects. And if they don't respect, they dare not say it for fear of being swooped on by th...

I saw Days of Glory last night and I thought it was absolutely worthy of a nomination. The performances were excellent. The whole thing was excellent.

Anyone catch this during Oscar month on TCM. It's a B film - the big headers are Alexander Knox and Marsha Hunt. Interesting take, especially considering the fact that it was attempting to create a story in the future.

Knox was REALLY good. I reccommend it.
