We don't recognize Assistant Directors. They are, however, eligible for special citations.

Precipice, eh? One from which many will fall, no doubt. A very interesting metaphor for this.

I guess I need to watch Min and Bill again. I remembered it being quite the tearjerker when I first watched it decades ago, but when when I watched it again in the 80s or 90s I thought it contained more slapstick comedy than I recalled. For the Oscar year 1928-1929 they didn't announce nominations ...

Much as I hat to see double nominees I applaud this one. If someone gives us two of the top achievements in a year, surely they deserve two mentions. We're rewarding the performances, not the maximum number of performers. Sorry, Magilla - another double nominee thrown in here. Best Actress Margaret...

I knew you guys were going to mess with my Fanny, that's why I used all my first round votes to keep it afloat as long as I could. Actually scoring was the one nomination it didn't deserve. Harold Rome's glorious score sans the lyrics from the stage version made up so much of the background music I...

Much as I hat to see double nominees I applaud this one. Morgan was never better than in his back-to-back 1940 films directed by Lubitsch and Borzage respectively.

We last heard from Barry four days ago when he had this to say: "Hey everyone, I apologize. I moved and I had my cable and internet turned off on Monday and with everything else going on in my life ( I also quit my job and don't have one yet! HA!) I totally forgot about checking in here."...
