Let me just preface this by saying that yes, just about every film on this list is American. I'm sorry. I'm trying to remedy this problem by seeing as many foreign films of the nineties as I can but right now, these are the ones that I love the most dammit! 1. Rushmore (Wes Anderson) 2. The Thin Red...

Diane Keaton. Is it wrong to kinda want to see the former Annie Hall naked in Something's Gotta Give this winter?

Haven't seen half the winners on the list but I liked Redgrave quite a bit in Julia.

What a crappy lineup! I'll go with Jack for such a broadly Oscar-baiting role rather than Art, if only because Jack should be the winner irregardless for Chinatown. Couldn't care less about Dreyfuss or half the winners on there.

Dammit! I really wanted to say Annie Hall but I'm a sucker for The Godfather. Still can't believe the Woodman beat Lucas and didn't even show up to collect the spoils. What a year!

The best film of all time? No, but I still say it's the best film of the year. BEST PICTURE 1. Beauty and the Beast 2. JFK 3. Defending Your Life 4. Life is Sweet 5. An Angel at My Table BEST DIRECTOR 1. Oliver Stone, JFK 2. Jane Campion, An Angel at My Table 3. Gary Trousdale & Kirk Wise, Beau...

A sentimental year for me. Here is when I began my love affair with movies! I remember Braveheart being my number one pick with absolutely zero chance of variation and laughing at the absurd notion of a talking pig film being better that this huge, sweeping epic. Now, the talking pig film dances cir...

You thought Kevin Costner "shined" in Dances with Wolves? He was a mannequin! I will cop to thinking he was quite good in Bull Durham, JFK, A Perfect World, and Tin Cup but that's really all I can remember without actually feeling pain in my head.

Dammit! Whenever I criticize Criddic, karma kicks me in the ass. I meant to vote for Dances with Wolves, not Schindler's List. I still have a hard time believing people actually liked Kevin Costner once upon a time.

Wow. I'm seeing a lot of sick and handicapped people... I'm no big fan of William Goldman but I also don't like to vote for the retard at any given opportunity, but the "Crazy Guy" vote is equally deceptive. Hopkins is oodles of fun in Silence but would I rank that above the remarkable tr...

Hmm...I wouldn't say they did the right thing as much as they did the somewhat acceptable thing. I mean, I will never understand the allure of Jodie Foster in The Silence of the Lambs or even her work in The Accused . She's a fine, credible actress but she never struck me as anything more than comp...

It sucks that Schindler's List is such an amazing film because I'd love to be able to vote for Unforgiven . I still find it difficult to believe that this crackling, visceral, deeply moving yarn won Best Picture above such obvious, hard-headed contenders as A Few Good Men and Scent of a Woman . I n...

Wow, what a worthless decade. So many inexceptional performances, so little time.

Although I admire the subtlety of Anna Paquin and Juliette Binoche, I'd have to side with the only singular tour de force of the lot, Dianne Wiest.

Went with Landau although Gene Hackman is scary close to being my choice.

Incidentally, Robin Williams, while dull in Good Will Hunting, at least didn't screech his film to a hault like Jack Palance did in City Slickers.
