I watch films on either our Grundig 34 inch analog tv or our Panasonic 34 inch digital which I prefer of the two. I don't like televisions any bigger then these as they would be too dominating with our decor. We have 4 DVD players. We have had two of them for years now and we have recently bought t...

Tyson (2008) James Toback 4/10 Genova (2009) Michael Winterbottom 4/10 Winterbottom is one of the most interesting English directors working today. Every film is a completely different journey. Unfortunately this one, beautifully filmed...

I hadn't planned to see this having seen the trailer a number of times over the last couple of months. I was not impressed with either of two different trailers I have seen.

However, given the strength of the reviews I do intend to see this now.

Damien wrote:Séraphine (Martin Provost)

Lovely, beautifully acted, low-key film about creativity, identity, self-worth, outsiderness, loyalty, madness, passion, faith, love.

8/10
One of the few upcoming films I'm looking forward to seeing.

It would be nice to think that a film or two from this year is good enough to make my top ten as it stands currently. The Death of Mr. Lazarescu (Cristi Puiu) Dog Days (Ulrich Seidl) In the Bedroom (Todd Field) La Commune (Paris 1871) (Peter Wakins) The Lady and the Duke (Eric Rohmer) The Magdalene...

Bachelor Flat (1961) Frank Tashlin 4/10 So little love for this wonderful, if admittedly minor, Tashlin? Hell, the scenes of the dachshund dealing with the dinosaur bone alone is worth an 8 out of 10. Do young people today have any idea who Terry-Thomas is? I'm not much of a Tashlin fan. Who's Mind...
