The car dude (named Josiah) didn't make it. He apparently tanked the round that aired last night (I didn't watch so don't know details), and that seemed to be what kept him out of the top 24.

He posts at some other online forums; seems like he has a good sense of humor about himself and the show.

I'm like Mister Tee...it feels like I've come back from vacation to find the company shutting down. Except I've been here every day for months, and I don't know what happened since the discord last week that lead to this. I thought we were sliding back to normal.

Anderson had cast another actor as Eli and cast Paul Dano only as Paul, but the actor cast as Eli dropped out--a few sources say he was fired--just before the scenes with Eli were to be filmed. So Anderson got Dano to play both roles, always intending for them to be two seperate people. With two ac...

I strongly prefer The Fallen Idol to The Third Man as well; If I had been handed this category, I would've given it to Reed. (Although I think Mankiewicz was a great choice, and definitely deserved his win.)

From MSNBC: All in all, I thought the 50th Annual Grammy Awards was a solid, entertaining show. In fact, the only moment that irked me came afterwards when former-winner Natalie Cole was asked by a local news reporter about Amy Winehouse. “I don't think she deserved it,” Natalie huffed. “She needs ...

I don't want to know the end of a film before I see it, or the details about it. Is that a bad thing? No, and I never said or suggested otherwise. However, the ending to Into the Wild , which it is faithful to the true story of Christopher McCandless, whose fate is well-known--which was widely ment...

That plot point of Into the Wild isn't really such a huge spoiler. I knew it going in, and I didn't feel like the film had been ruined; didn't feel like it had any effect on my reaction to the film. Into the Wild is not really that kind of movie, unlike Atonement , which would probably be very diff...

My main problem with Spacey in American Beauty --which Damien also touched on in Inside Oscar--is that I think he was badly miscast and nothing in the performance overcomes the miscasting. He always brings the snarky, smug, misanthropic persona to everything he plays, and while that can work someti...

I was kind of surprised I got quoted so many times. My ballot for the best: 1- Ray Milland 2- Adrien Brody 3- F. Murray Abraham (one of the first Best Actor winners I remember seeing; it still impresses me in new ways every time I see it again.) 4- Art Carney (I'm still convinced that most of the p...

The only issue I have with the consolidation is that there's now a section for Oscar's First Seventy Years with about 200 topics--polls, and then the topics where we've posted our Oscar choices. Granted, Oscar's 8th Decade has 350 topics, but the topics with our choices are all right at the top. Th...

I still haven't gotten around to seeing "There Will Be Blood", but my mother - this saintly woman - assured me it's "a fucking masterpiece". There Will Be Blood seems destined to go down as the 2007 "masterpiece" that I just don't get. I admire it, but I still don't th...

I am rooting for the Pats, but that play by Eli (avoiding that sack and getting the ball down the field) That was one of the more impressive plays I've seen. That was a great play. But I've hated Eli Manning since that 2004 Draft Day tantrum, and can't seem to get over it. Edited By dws1982 on 1202...
