I guess after all these hours it's assume to assume that OG will not be logging on and we can pass him by as he indicated would be OK in his "out of town for the weekend" post.

Magilla, are willing to put money on that? On what, that it will be a close election or that McCain will win? I think it will be close unless as I said, the "older white men and women" wake up, but even though I think it will be close, I think Obama will win but not by the landslide he sh...

I've given up applying logic when it comes to the Presidential race. I'm looking at it now from the perspective of what plays to the masses. Like it or not, this election could still very well be decided on personalities. Those for whom integrity and what's best for them as well as the country have...

I watched and thought he answered them very well, not that I agree with his answers, but he held his own. I can't say the same about Cindy, who was visibly annoyed that Barbara Walters dared to ask her how many houses she actually owned and refused to answer the question.

But how did it play to all those "older white women" who are allegedly so impressed by her? Hopefully not very well, but as the wise man once said "never underestimate the bad taste of the American public." On a related note I haven't seen the new Obama ad they're talking about ...

I saw The Small Back Room a few years ago as part of a Michael Powell retrospective at Lincoln Center. I liked it, although I'm not nearly as enthusiastic about it as Daniel. The film contains some instances of Powell's tendency to be over-emphatic in character and theme and excessive in his visual...

I don't know what's happened to Jack, but we need to get this game back on track. Rain Bard is up.

3. Yeah, Damon for VP!!!! At least we'd have a hot guy to look at on TV every day. But seriously, he thinks it's "important" that she believes in dinosaurs. That's some twisted logic there. First of all, I don't believe that science and religion are mutually exclusive. You can believe tha...

The most chilling comments come from the pastor of a local church who says that not only was her election engineered by the Assembly of God making her beholden to them, but she was "one of them".

Anyone remember Omen III?

I don't think they care if it gets nominated or not. If you re-release it, they will come... and beat Titanic's box office record. It's a ploy I tell you, a ploy! Of course it is. Otherwise they would just plan a major DVD release or send out screeners. They are just using the Oscars as an excuse t...

I've pretty much stopped watching cable news, so I missed the whole "lipstick on a pig" nonsense, and as Tee mentioned McCain used the same analogy. Obama also said, ""You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called 'change.' It's still gonna stink after eight years." B...

Well I did say he should be winning the electoral vote "handily". I'd feel a lot better if the "barely Democrat" states were more solidly so, as they should be - Pennsylvania in particular.

Ohio is currently in the Republican column. A Florida win would be sweet.

Yes, but knowing how the media, let alone the Republicans, play these things up, why would Obama use that particular analogy? He really ought to know better. It's a distraction he doesn't need. This race is too close for comfort. Given the sorry state of the economy Obama should be beating McCain b...
