I don't read anyone else's articles until I've completed mine so as not to be influenced by outside sources. When I do, I am frequently surprised and often gratified that others have come to the same conclusion I have. A case in point is this DVD Beaver review in which the reviewer has read all the...

This guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

There's a lot of hyperbole about the Godfather films I don't agree with, but the look of the film on Blu-ray is not one of them.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but guess what, folks?

My Name Is Joe is ineligible - it was not released in the U.S. until January, 1999.

After Penelope, it's Eric and Hustler to put a close to the year.

Maybe the pill would be easier swallowed if they called this something other than a bailout of Wall Street, which it really isn't. Wall Street signifies the stock market in most people's minds. This is a bill to take over troubled assets from banks and other financial institutions so that they will...

Mister Tee wrote:Alot of people are saying, fine. Now the Dems should strip out all the concessions to the GOP, and dare Bush to veto a truly populist approach.
I hadn't heard that, but that was exactly my reaction. It won't happen though. As usual, it will be the Dems that make all the concessions.

It might be a good idea, but supporting actor is full. You can only to add to a category with fewer than 13 nods.

Nope - Last Days of Disco is an original screenplay, Out of Sight is adapted.

I. Two choices here. I couldn't decide between Clive Owen for Croupier or Jane Horrocks for Little Voice. This is tough, but I am going to replace Nick Nolte with Owen.
Unfortunately Croupier is ineligible. It did not open in the U.S. until 2000.

One thing in the Best Song category: aren't "Knights of the Round Table" and "Camelot" the same song with alternate titles? According to the CD accompanying the DVD special edition, there is a song called "Camelot" but none called "Knights of the Round Table"...

We elect our representatives to do the right thing, not the popular thing. When the general public catches on that the right thing was to vote "yes", those politicians, Dems and Republicans, who voted "no", whose races are very much in doubt will find themselves on the losing en...

I think this is the first year in the game when people's picks in art direction and costume design have stirred the pot more than their picks in the major categories. Personally I think it's a shame that Shakespeare in Love has been shut out of both categories while the dreadful Elizabeth made it i...

I'm sorry to say I don't recall the scene, but the region 1 DVD is exactly as the film was shown in the U.S. and features commentary by Geraldine Chaplin which I haven't listened to which may explain the missing scene, if indeed it's missing. If it is, it might have something to do with music right...

Makes sense that they would release this and Susan Slade at the same time. Both were huge hits for Warners when Troy Donahue was their reigning heart-throb. It was Colbert's first theatrical film in six years though she had been active in TV in the interim. Sadly it didn't result a major comeback f...
