I apologize to dreaMaker for all the bad things were all going to be forced to say about The Reader from here on out. The only negative about The Reader's best picture nomination is that we will now have to endure Harvey's one remaining friend and permanent spokesperson, Renee Zellweger, once again...

Actually this is the most satisfying group of nominations in years. For the first time in I don't know how long the best picture and director line-ups match my choices. I've gone back and forth on the Winslet thing so many times I don't know which end is up anymore. Clearly she gave the better perf...

I also remember Byron as Ann Seymour in Young Bess which starred her Black Narcissus co-stars, Jean Simmons as the future queen Elizabeth and Deborah Kerr as Catherine Parr.
