Jesus Christ. Is she from the 1950's or something? Hardly. In the 1950s some of these books including Silas Marner were required reading in most high schools. She could be from a 1950s science fiction film, though: Invaders From Mars, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, I Married a Monster From Outer S...

I will be away for the weekend so if i am up in any of the games feel free to pass me over. In the BB game where my turn is close, my second round choice would be to add Meryl Streep 'Kramer Vs Karmer' or alternatively Marlon Brando 'Apocalypse Now' in the supporting categories. If no one has menti...

Good to see someone else appreciates The Hasty Heart and I Was a Male War Bride.

By the way, it's Ann, not Anne, Sheridan.

I think McCain's forced smile is relevant. For someone who has been in the public eye as long as he has, he shouldn't be that obvious. As for Palin looking like a librarian, I don't think so - a stripper dressed as a librarian when she enters a stage party maybe, but that's as close as she gets to ...

Interesting but not surprising. A member of the PTA only when her oldest son was in first grade, a mayor who let an administrator run a city of 5,000. Her exaggerations and lies will catch up with her. Let's hope it's before the election. Even so, there will be still be some gullible enough to thin...

By the way, I must say that the normaly reliable Chuck Todd must have uttered the most idiotic statement of the year. He said that Palin will help McCain with the ''crucial voting bloc'' of parents with special needs children because she has a baby with Down Syndrome. Really, what's wrong with thes...

Yes, it is. It's a big fat, forced phony smile that gives me the creeps.

Interestingly the Nielsen ratings give McCain's speech half a million more watchers than Obama but if you add in PBS, which Nielsen doesn't track, Obama beats him. Also missing from the analysis, CNN and on-line followers.

Eric wrote:Best Score: 'Salem's Lot
Salem's Lot was a TV miniseries. The truncated theatrical release version that appeared outside of the U.S. was not released in theaters until 1980. I don't think it qualifies.

For me, it's Notorious, Rear Window and Vertigo, but Shadow of a Doubt was Hitchock's own favorite.
