Re: Best Screenplay 1962

Gosh, what in incredible year. My votes would go the haunting Through a Glass Darkly and the wonderfully superb adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. I would cite all the titles Mister Tee already mentioned as major omissions, with Jules and Jim and the Manchurian Candidate particularly saddening. Ju...

Re: The Official Review Thread of 2015

I really liked The Wolfpack. I thought it was quite an interesting and poignant documentary about the escapism of movies and how they help people get through tough times. Anyway who also liked this film should check out the The Wolfpack's Criterion picks on YouTube or the Criterion website.

Re: Best Screenplay 1966

Seconds is so amazing and underrated. I probably would've given it my vote too had it been nominated. Thank god at least James Wong Howe's incredible cinematography was recognized.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt- What do you think of it?

What does everyone think of this hilarious Netflix show? Do some of you hate it and find it insufferable? Do you love it and think it's a great comedy series? I just wanted to hear multiple opinions about this show.

Re: 1961 Oscar Shouldabeens

Is it ok if I leave it? Those years are pretty stacked and I want to include Dirk Bogarde somewhere.

Re: Best Screenplay 1968

My votes go to 2001: a Space Odyssey and Rosemary's Baby, two amazing masterpieces and two of the greatest films of the 1960s and ever. My omissions for this year are Petulia(yes BJ, a peculiar film, but a dazzlingly unique one that is pretty underrated), Belle de Jour, Pretty Poison(also a little-k...

Re: Best Screenplay 1963

This one was easy: 8 1/2 and Hud. Two great films and two of the greatest films of the 1960s. One a haunting, sad and dark Western and the other an incredibly original, dazzling and brilliant Italian film about moviemaking. The omissions for me are Billy Liar, The Birds, Charade, From Russia with Lo...
