Paris ("Conga", Gloria Estefan)- Is it premature to declare Paris this season's official fashion disaster? Every show she seems to wear not one awful outfit, but a combination of about three different hideous things. The first verse wasn't very good, but she sang the rest of it okay. Still though, ...

I still think two or three of these winners are worse than Crash. But it probably is time for a new one.

[small voice]I never hated David like everyone else, and I think David probably has a nice voice beneath the artifice.[/small voice] The problem was that--on the show at least--he never showed anything beyond the artifice. A few years down the road, if he can get the Buble impersonation out his sys...

9. David the Crooner - "The Way You Look Tonight (Frank Sinatra & Others): Absolutely cannot take criticism. At all. Stands there stone-faced and completely unreceptive to any critique. I feel silly for saying it, but his stone face breaks my heart. It's like he's trying not to let the criticism bo...

Taylor: Boring song choice, and he was flat right out of the gate. But the chorus was nice, until he went flat again and then his shrieky noises were flat. 5 out of 10. Elliott: Probably the hardest song of the night. A few off notes, but they weren't very far off, and I can't imagine any of the ot...

If Kellie Pickler wins American Idol, I will never watch the show again. Her bullshit "I'm just a country girl" act is even worse than Carrie Underwood's, and Carrie at least had a strong voice to back it up. (Carrie had a vapid personality, but I'll even take that to Kellie's total insincerity.) H...

Gedeon is going to be your new Anwar this season, ain't he? I really liked Gedeon's performance last night, which I couldn't ever say for Anwar. He hasn't shown a tendency for what bugged me about Anwar though: Abandoning melody for melismatic wail-athons. And unlike Anwar he's actually a charismat...

11. Jose "Sway" Penala ("Reasons") - I'm not getting it. I was laughing althroughout. The falsettos simply sound ridiculous on him. I'm Filipino and I'm not rooting for him. (C-) I didn't see his performance, but this is the best song of the 12 the dudes chose. Also probably the hardest, so I could...

anonymous wrote:Katharine McPhee ("Since I Fell For You") - In terms of vocal, it's the best of the night. Her performance is also quite luminous, it's tough not be won over by it. (A-)

Vocally, I thought she was in the bottom half.

19E has no use for a Carrie Underwood clone, although Kellie does seem to have more charisma and more personality than Carrie. But then again, who doesn't? Assuming she doesn't choke right out of the gate, Kellie has a good chance of being one of the last two or three girls standing, which would gi...

The DVD is expected on May 30. It's rumored to be an extended (210 minute) version.

I finally saw Capote last night and I think the critics and Oscar voters have gone way overboard. It's one of those genuine tradition of quality movies with zero visual style; Except for the 2.40:1 widescreen ratio, this could've been one of those biopics that Joseph Sargent frequently makes for HB...

It's probably not the first I've been sick of before it opened, but I don't think I've ever been this sick of an unopened movie before. Maybe it's because I've been too busy to keep up very closely with all of the movies coming this year. (I'm almost sick of King Kong after the past few weeks also....

I don't know why, but Brokeback Mountain is one of the first (the first?) movies that I've ever been completely sick of before it even opened.

Mira Sorvino over Joan Allen is one of the all-time worst Oscar choices.
