Oh, tough one. Hayward, Signoret, Loren, Bancroft and Neal are all the most worthy in my opinion (I adore Andrews, but not in Mary Poppins; and I prefer Taylor's 50s performances--Giant, Cat, etc.). With the exception of The Lion in Winter (which I re-viewed last year), I haven't seen most of these performances in years. But, based on my rose-colored memories, I'm most fond of Jane Fonda in Klute--a magnificent performance, IMHO--but only a notch above Diane Keaton in Annie Hall.
