This was my biggest disappointment this evening. Lackluster sets, nothing new, and a completely shafted Inception. Yay.

And remember this is the Academy who tends to favor exteriors over interiors. I don't remember that many exteriors in Perdition. Actually, I think this is the reason why Conrad L. Hall won Cinematography for Road to Perdition. Not certain if it was a set or not, but even if it was, they did a great...

(as when Ed Wood's one character beat out the more tradition Mary Shelley's Frankenstein... Um, there was a little more make-up going on in Ed Wood than just the Martin Landau character. Each character had to be reshaped to resemble the actors from those movies, including Lisa Marie to have Vampira...

I think you're forgetting the fact that they haven't had the Best Action Sequence category around since 2004.

I think it's funny that we're looking at Inception as a linear storyline and criticizing it for being incoherent when dreams themselves are never linear or coherent, which is the intention I think the movie was going for.

Disagree. As my late friend, film critic Stuart Byron, put it, "The distinction shouldn't be between 'art' films and 'entertainment' films. The distinction should be between good films and bad ones." And while I didn't see The Last Airbender or Transformers 2, in 52 years of movie-going I...

The reason Nolan has built such a large reputation for himself is that when Memento was released, it was a huge cult film and had a lot of supporters behind it's fractured story-structure narrative. When Christopher Nolan made Batman Begins, a lot of people who were fans of the comic saw his versio...

I was sure The Kids Are All Right was going to take it. Not a great screenplay but at least, unlike Inception, it was a screenplay. You know, I wonder what the reactions of people who give movies like Inception such a hard time critically if those people actually had to watch truly one star or less...

Do you know how long it was?
By turnaround time, I meant from book to option rights to filmed to release, not the running time (which was two hours, by the way).

The way I see it, with Best Picture coming down to The Social Network and The King's Speech, this is literally a battle of old vs. new. On the old side, you have an uplifting, elegantly made costume/history piece which generally dominated these awards back in the day. On the new side, you have a sw...

I personally liked Jessica Alba in The Killer Inside Me, but understand that she is probably horrible in those other films. I think it's just the Razzie's continued attack on pretty people with little talent. She may have only been average in the other films, but they like to point out empty pretty...

The Last Airbender deserves all of the Golden Raspberries it wins and then some. It is truly a loathsome piece of filmmaking that really showcases that M. Night Shyamalan would be better utilized as a Script Supervisor and nothing more. Vampires Suck is the standard Jason Friedberg/Aaron Seltzer mo...
