Re: Damien Bona 1955-2012

Like most of you, I never knew Damien more than by correspondence, though back in the late 90s he was good enough to make me a copy of Lewton's The Seventh Victim. He also read and provided comments on an early short story of mine; I would have dedicated to him, if I had ever managed to publish it. ...

I am not very familiar with it; but, in the recent parliamentary elections in Canada, the social-democratic-leaning New Democratic Party scored much better than people were expecting. Indeed -- they now have 103 seats, when their best ever before was 48! This makes them the Official Opposition for ...

What century are we living in? I was critical of Portman's alluding to her pregnancy at every awards show myself, but it was from the frustration of hearing the same thing over and over again, as lovely and wonderful as it may have been for her. This crap from the creepy Michael Medved goading the ...

I've done a few classes at Carleton University while finishing up my Ph.D. (which should be defended this summer). I'm still waiting to hear about some jobs and postdocs for next year... the postdocs are a stronger likelihood from the looks of things, especially the one I applied for at CUNY Staten...

Sabin and Oscar Guy, some of your responses to my critique appear to amount to "but that's how it is in video games". It is true that this reliance on video game conventions might be alienating for some viewers, but having to interrupt narrative flow to witness largely self-contained sequ...
