Re: Everything Is Great Again

Anyway, here's my bold prediction. Trump is NOT going to pull out of the Paris accord. And you were wrong. I can't believe that anyone was predicting he wouldn't pull out of the Paris Climate Accord. This was one the easiest of his campaign promises he could uphold for his base and he'll do anythin...

There were like FOUR bombshells while he was in the air!

Re: Another Old Lady Enters the Oscar Race

Lois Smith really should have won the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Emmy a couple years ago for her brief appearance on The Americans in an episode named “Do Mail Robots Dream of Electric Sheep?” She was astonishingly good. http://www.indiewire.com/2015/03/in-a-gruesome-season-of-the-american...

Re: Ryan Murphy mentions Damien

I saw that and wanted to run here to share with everyone too. What a wonderful tribute to Damien it shall be (this show has been terrific). Tonight's episode of Feud is the big Oscar episode with Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) accepting Anne Bancroft's Oscar for The Miracle Worker much to Bette Davis...

Another "Brutally Honest Ballot." This time it's a major "Moonlight" fan:

Re: The VCR / DVR / Streaming Alert Thread

I'm wondering how close Christopher Walken might've been to a supporting nomination for Pennies from Heaven that year. As I recall, he has a pretty great cameo in which he's dancing in the rain. He was still a pretty recent winner in that category at the time so I can't imagine him not, at least, be...

Re:

The Constant Nymph is a truly negligible movie, and Fontaine's performance isn't that much more notable. In many ways, her character's arc is similar to her arc in Letter From an Unknown Woman, except that movie is great and Constant Nymph is pretty hoary. (Gee, I wonder why she's coughing so much?...

Re: Categories One-by-One: Supporting Actor

Tee, I had a similar thought about a Lucas Hedges spoiler in this race (just the other day, in fact). He seems to be sort of quietly sitting in the background of this category with not a lot of speculation about his chances on UAADB or elsewhere. It's every bit conceivable, too, that people mark him...

Re: Life Under Trump

2016 is over. Please post these kinds of comments in the Life Under Trump thread. I really don't know what you're talking about. There have been protests against Trump and his crap all over the country as well as the world at large. . Well... yes, a few protests, ok - small groups of people. I admi...

Re: Final Oscar Predictions

It seems like everyone has the exact same acting nominees. Not that I've posted predictions of my own, but you know that's not how the Academy works. There will be at least one shocker nomination. I'd die for something out-of-the-blue (like what if they somehow resurrected Linda Emond or Tracy Letts...
