A sign of the times stat:

Don was sure getting it from every direction - Betty, Peggy, Connie Hilton, Pete, Roger. Can't say he didn't deserve it. Whether his character learns from this comeuppance, we'll have to see. I also just can't see Betty and Harry lasting that long. She and Don just make a better pairing. I didn't u...

Just wanted to say that I enjoy reading all the insights posted on this terrific show. Mister Tee, I especially like your reminiscences on your theater experiences back in that era. I, unfortunately didn't have many of them back then as my parents weren't theater-goers. My first Broadway show was s...

They dug up some nice archival news footage beyond what is normally shown regarding the assassination. It was good to see NBC's Frank McGee, who died rather young in 1974. I had actually forgotten about him.

Yes, the period detail is just perfect, and they don't beat you over the head announcing it either. Two episodes ago, Peggy had a line about riding the subway that the cane seats ruin her hosiery and some background news that the Dow Jones Average "plummeted" 2 points for the day. Tee, if...

Can someone go over the Nomination rules for Best Picture again? Would the Academy members on their nomination ballot put their choices for Best Picture in preferential order - listing 10 films. If that's the case, when the actual nominees for Best Picture were announced, they would just have to su...

Thanks guys - I still find it amazing. Chris lucked out with a dream assignment with the Survivor shoots. Not only did it give him a chance to work with a large diverse crew, the locations have been extraordinary. He just returned from Western Samoa, where Survivor 19 was made. The show has unexpec...

My son, Chris picked up his third Emmy Nomination (Sound Mixing - Survivor Tocantins: "The Poison Apple Needs to Go.") Locally, he has switched to Cinematography for the production company where he works. I don't think Roger Deakins needs to look over his shoulder...........yet. :) Edited...

Tell No One was a good one. It seems it took forever for it to finally get released on DVD. 2009 is starting out as bad as 2008. I've only seen two 2009 releases, Duplicity and State of Play and neither overwhelmed me. Actually the best movie I've seen for the first time this year was on TCM last n...

One of the big disappointments of 1984 for me, was the shut out of Once Upon a Time in America from nominations. This was most likely due to its butchered version being the only one under consideration. I think that its full length version could have received double digit nominations - including on...
