Re: Oscar Predictions Contest
It's not my suggestion to make the deadline when the host begins the monologue. Rather that's what anonymous1980 suggested he might do in his personal communication with me. I, too, thought such a deadline could be nebulous. A reasonable deadline could be when the show begins.

Re: Oscar Predictions Contest
It was my understanding the deadline for entries was when ABC's red carpet show begins. I specifically waited until a couple of minutes before this deadline to submit so I wouldn't have to worry about someone copying my predictions, tweaking one or two categories, and tying with me. Once again, Soni...

Re: Categories One-by-One: Makeup and Hairstyling
Maestro and Poor Things are both the type of makeup job that wins here a lot--big job on essentially a single character. I know, I know, Carey Mulligan wore makeup and had her hair styled too, and there was other makeup/hairstyling in Poor Things than Willem Dafoe, but without, respectively, the ma...

Re: R.I.P. Treat Williams
This is really sad.
Treat Williams sang a terrific version of "Satin Doll" in 1984's "Ellington: The Music Lives On" (PBS Great Performances series).
His performance made me realize his incredible talent.

Andrea Riseborough's nomination will remain intact. The Academy won't rescind it. Source: Vanity Fair. (Just came through my Facebook feed five minutes ago.)

Re: Golden Globe Awards
I hear ya. Along these lines, after two garnered triple points early on I knew I didn't stand a chance so I took a shot of NyQuil and went to bed.Mister Tee wrote: I watched this all through a Nyquil haze (not COVID; just a standard winter cold), so that's pretty much my full reaction.

Another triple points earner as only one predicted the song from RRR. Though I read nice things about this song earlier today, its fun appeal.

Re: Golden Globe Awards
Only ONE Golden Globes Contest entrant predicted Bassett, earning triple points. KUDOS! She was no doubt on the radar, along with Curtis and Condon. The MOST difficult category for me this year.

Re: 2022 Emmy Awards
I've minor, tenuous connections to this year's Emmys. I went to high school with Steve Zahn's wife, it's cool seeing red carpet photos of the couple. Murray Bartlett won his category. I worked with Sharon Tognoni when her daughter, Gina, won two Daytime Emmys. Bartlett was among her co-stars. And, a...
