Re: Vice/Untitled Adam McKay Movie reviews

Amy Adams has a chance at a nomination. Her scenes are bigger as the film positions Lynn Cheney as the most energetic and ambitious figure in his life. Her old age makeup is fine. She gets to tell Young Dick to shape up, she gets to campaign for him when he has a heart attack... the film doesn't qu...

Best Of Luck If Anyone Is In The Path Of Hurricane Florence

Best of luck if anyone is in the path of Hurricane Florence. It is almost exactly a year after Hurricane Irma struck Florida, where my area was spared the worst of it, even though I had to go without electricity for five days. Florence looks to bypass Florida, only bringing some big surfs to the bea...

As far as I know, yes.

Re: Everything Is Great and Amazing

DeSantis has an ad where he helps his young daughter use building blocks to build a wall. Exactly where in Florida he expects a wall to be built, I do not know. Perhaps, he means to build a wall on the western Panhandle border and to keep out Alabamans. This would make sense if he plans to use the c...

Our Revolution, the group I am in that is an outgrowth of the Sanders Presidential campaign, just had a big victory. Andrew Gillum, a candidate we endorsed, has just won the Democratic nomination for Florida Governor!

One interesting fact is that, even though John McCain lived to be 81, he is still survived by his mother, 106-year-old Roberta McCain.

And Armie Hammer embodies the uber-WASP dudebro entrepeneur/villain. One wonders what his great-grandfather would have made of this devastating indictment of capitalism. I remember one time watching an old Tonight Show where Johnny Carson interviewed Armand Hammer. This was during the time of the n...

Re: Last Seen Movie - The Latest Movie You Have Seen; ratings

The Apartment - Billy Wilder - 1960 This is another time I used TCM as an opportunity to catch up on a celebrated film I had still yet to see. From the beginning with Jack Lemmon's voice over, it became apparent that rapid-fire repartee would punctuate the film from beginning to end. What impressed...

Re: Everything Is Great and Amazing

As radical as it sounds, if a progressive President and Congress is elected in 2020; and, the Supreme Court rules the passed-and-signed legislation unconstitutional, I think it would then be the correct decision for the President and Senate to increase the number of Justices in the Supreme Court.
