Hilary Swank in Boys don't cry the acting in the last 30 minutes is the best I've ever seen. The worst Theron I think the director of Monster and Theron totally ripped it off.

Christie was subdued in away from her, what was so difficult about that role with the exception of Darling she has always underplayed her roles she didn't have to go out of her comfort zone. I think the academy made the right decision and critics were wrong on this one.

All the acting wins were deserved with the exception of Swinton winning the unnominated Catherine Keener in into the wild should have been nominated and won. And I of course disagree about Christie/Cotillard. Cotillard was magical in that role she played a woman from age 19 to 47 who looked Like 80...

Damien Cotillard is a great actress evidently you have never watched any of her french work, any she totally blew Christie away, I said it from the start any other actress could have played Christie's role.

Well I think the Christie fans should be a little worried I remember the same article a few years back when they interviewed several voters, all said they thought Sissy Spacek was going to win yet none of them voted for her, this is what usually leads to upsets.

She was portraying Piaf she needed makeup they had to make her look like her, I'm sick of this fascination with Julie Christie her career peaked 25 years ago she was fine in an ensemble movie and because of name recognition her co Star Gordon Pinsent was totally ignored.

I don't understand why so many people want Christie to win yeah she was fine in an understated role that was more part of an ensemble she's a previous oscar winner, Cotillard gave a remarkable transformative performance I think Christie'd reputation has alot to do with the awards she's been winning.
