Penelope wrote:Best Actress will be decided in another way: Streep for longevity? Hathaway for being the rising ingenue? Winslet for overdue win?

Or according to my wishlist: Sally Hawkins for deserving!

(I'll take a win for Hawkins as the result of a split, though. I'm not picky.)

Happy-Go-Lucky was wonderful, but I think that's largely because of Sally Hawkins.

I didn't get a chance to see VCB or In Bruges (wasn't interested in the latter), but Happy-Go-Lucky was certainly better than Mamma Mia!

It's just so odd seeing this film steamroll because in so many other years, it'd simply be a huge underdog.

I don't hate the film -- I thought it was pleasant -- but I do wish there was something I could root for that I did have strong feelings for. And this year, there's nothing.

Yay for Sally Hawkins! Truly a wonderful performance, and I never thought it'd get recognized.

It turned out to be better than I thought it would be, but I can't imagine too many people taking it all that seriously. I see Amy Adams getting nominated possibly fo...

I love Lea Salonga's voice. Too bad most people only know her Disney stuff.

I'd pick Wild Strawberries and L'Eclisse (which I own but haven't actually gotten around to watching).
