Re: 2024 Governors Awards

I agree that these honorees should be given more time at the main Oscar ceremony. They could create and show a short film demonstrating—with clips, etc.—why the awards are deserved. They used to do that in the first couple of years, I think. Then it devolved into just mentioning it on the telecast a...

In recent years, it seems they're no longer averse to giving the honorary awards to people who are young-ish and/o...

Re: Welcome to the 97th Academy Awards

I do this at another message board. I do 10 random predictions as to what will happen at next awards season and see if I'm correct. I have done this twice and I boast a whopping 10% accuracy rate ( ). But who knows? I will post my predictions here too and come back to it next year to see how a...

Re: I'm always here for the Trivia

Someone on Twitter pointed out that five different non-English/international films won an accumulated 6 Oscars last night: Anatomy of a Fall, The Boy and The Heron, Godzilla Minus One, 20 Days in Mariupol and The Zone of Interest. That has to be some sort of record, right?

The first person in the In Memoriam montage was Alexei Navalny (but someone guessed he would be the last) and the last person is Tina Turner (but someone guessed she would be the first). The films to go home empty-handed were Past Lives , M...
