Re: Golden Globe Reactions

Gotta admit I do think the politics of Three Billboards oscillates between problematic and thought provoking but given the tenor of the conversation here I'm not really wanting to delve. I certainly imagine your thoughts would be thought-provoking and welcome, so please don’t feel like you can’t be...

Re: All the Money in the World

All the Italians are dark-haired in All the Money in the World. All - even the extras in the streets. Not a blond in sight (and I swear that there ARE blonds here). They aren't even just dark-haired - they are black-haired. With big noses, thick eyebrows, full llips. Which actually makes them conve...

I agree with the comparisons to Bridges and Firth. I don't think however that Oldman is winning the Globe. His past dismissal of the HFPA will probably hurt his chances. If in fact he wins it, then it's an open freeway to the Oscar. If not (and if Day Lewis wins on Sunday as I'm predicting) then it ...

Re: The Official Review Thread of 2017

I But, *c’mon*, singling out the Pakistani actors as good in the film is a bit of a stretch. Mmm... well, ok, let's say SOME of the Pakistani actors (I actually found the father of the family not too bad either). But you see, this is a movie where most characters (Pakistani AND American) are broad ...

Re: Pre-Christmas Look at the Top Races

Another name to throw out that I've heard someone mention - Catherine Keener for Get Out . Betty Gabriel is also a stand-out in Get Out.
